FAQ

Why should the furniture be sanded?
Sanding is to make the surface of the board smooth and increase the strength of the surface at the same time, the thickness is uniform, suitable for various veneers, suitable for various standard structural parts, and convenient for decoration and furniture production.

What are the furniture sanding processes?
①Plane general-purpose sanding process:
The main objects are flat parts, such as square lumber surface sanding, particle board, MDF, blockboard, laminated lumber plain board sanding and sanding after veneer, whether it is a square part, an ellipse or other shapes All parts can be flat sanded. If the surface of the part has high flatness and the sanding equipment has high precision, the paint film can be sanded. The wide belt sander is a typical equipment for flat universal sanding. It can complete the sanding task at one time and has high production efficiency.

②Professional surface sanding process:
The main objects are profiled parts, such as turned parts, decorative strips (such as lines processed by four-sided planing, press planing, lower shaft milling machines, or lines processed by linear surface), curved parts (such as solid wood curved parts, saw curved Parts), cylindrical parts (such as turning or milling parts), etc. Generally, professional machinery is used, such as a sanding machine for turning parts, a surface sanding machine for cylindrical parts, etc. The sanding tool used is sanding belt or grinding wheel, if sanding the surface with sanding belt, most of them need to be equipped with imitation briquette.

③Manual sanding process:
This method is suitable for sanding any parts, but considering the production efficiency and sanding quality, this method is often used for sanding parts with complex shapes, large volumes or not suitable for mechanical feeding, such as sponge sanding machines, oscillating sand Light machine, octagonal sander and brush sander, of which octagonal sander and brush sander are more suitable for sanding pattern carving parts. For boards with a certain thickness deviation and veneer, the sanding of a broadband sander can not fully meet the requirements of sanding, so a hand-pressed sander can also be used for supplementary sanding.

④Plane fixed-thickness sanding process:
It is mainly suitable for the sanding of solid wood parts and plain boards. Its purpose is to reduce thickness tolerances and ensure the processing quality of subsequent processes, such as ensuring the flatness of veneers and the flatness of paint.

⑤ Process combined sanding process:
Most of the parts processed by copy milling have complex shapes, and there is generally no corresponding sanding machine for sanding, and manual sanding is often used, so it is easy to cause deformation of the parts. Advanced copy milling adopts the synchronous processing of milling cutter and abrasive belt to complete the milling and sanding of parts. The parts processed by this equipment have smooth surface and high shape accuracy.

Process requirements for sanding?
It is required to use 120# → 180# or 150# → 240# sandpaper for sanding, and the interval between sandpaper numbers should not be too large. When sanding, use a disc sander (that is, air sanding) to sand in the direction of the wood grain. After sanding, the tabletop should be flat and smooth, and there should be no obvious sand marks, unevenness, ripples, and delamination. Especially the capillary fibers on the rubber wood surface should be sanded off. The edge of the tabletop should not be deformed by the sand, and the section should not be sanded black. The fiber holes should be filled and smoothed before sanding. The edges and corners should be slightly chamfered, and there should be no sharp corners or burrs.

What is the sanding process of general furniture?
①solid wood parts: material preparation → woolen material processing → gluing or bending → net material processing or component assembly or coating → flat sanding or professional surface sanding → side sanding or sanding → fine sand

② Panel parts: wood-based panel raw material preparation or solid wood strip edge sealing → flat thickness sanding → veneer veneer → flat sanding → flat supplementary sanding → side milling → side sanding or professional surface sanding.

How to divide the sandpaper model into thickness?
The size of the sandpaper is bigger and thinner, and smaller and thicker. Commonly used for furniture sanding are 120#, 150#, 180#, 240#, 320#, 400#, etc. According to different abrasive materials, there are many kinds of emery paper, artificial emery paper, glass emery paper and so on. Dry sandpaper (wood sandpaper) is used to polish the surface of wood and bamboo. Water-resistant sandpaper (water sandpaper) is used to polish the surface of metal or non-metal workpieces in water or oil.
Sandpaper is commonly known as sand skin. A material for grinding. It is used to grind the surface of metal, wood, etc. to make it smooth and clean. It is usually made of various abrasive grit glued on the base paper. The base paper is made of unbleached sulphate wood pulp. The paper is strong, wear-resistant, and has good water resistance. It is made by adhering abrasive materials such as glass sand to the base paper with adhesives such as gum and drying.
